Synergize, a community group focused on uniting business and faith-based leaders in Central Indiana, approached us to create a unique talk show, "Between Two Hugs." Our goal was to develop a video podcast that broke conventional podcast norms and would deeply resonate with Synergize’s community by fostering authentic conversations in an unexpected setting.

Process & Workflow

Concept Development

Working closely with the Synergize team, we developed the concept and premise of the show to reflect the group’s values of community, connection, and authenticity. "Between Two Hugs" was crafted as a talk show that could bridge the worlds of business and faith through open conversations. We envisioned a format that resembled a podcast but would stand apart by challenging standard expectations in visual and production quality.

Set Design & Location Challenges

To achieve this, we purposefully chose a location that presented real production hurdles: limited lighting and challenging acoustics. Rather than opting for a traditional studio, we embraced the unconventional space, using its imperfections to create a raw and genuine atmosphere. Our team crafted a custom set to navigate these challenges, using strategic lighting and sound solutions to transform the setting into a functional, visually engaging environment.

Production Approach

In line with our goal of pushing beyond typical podcast aesthetics, we focused on creating an intimate, immersive experience for viewers. This approach meant using unique camera angles, purposeful lighting setups, and selective audio equipment to capture high-quality visuals and sound within the constraints of the location. Our team’s commitment to elevating every aspect of production ensured that "Between Two Hugs" stood out as a polished yet unconventional talk show, reflecting the authenticity Synergize wanted to bring to their audience.
