Overview

Sunco Construction sought updated headshots to complement their new brand image, which emphasizes an industrial, architectural aesthetic. Our objective was to capture professional portraits within their office space to visually connect their team to Sunco’s values of quality, structure, and innovation. The headshots needed to reflect this brand identity while maintaining a professional, approachable look.

Process & Workflow

Location Selection & Creative Direction

To align with Sunco’s brand image, we decided to capture the headshots inside their office, using the space’s industrial elements to support an architectural, grounded feel. This approach helped situate the team within their professional environment, reinforcing the brand’s identity through both location and atmosphere. By using select angles, we highlighted structural elements of the office that would add subtle depth and visual interest to the backgrounds.

Lighting Setup

We utilized a three-point lighting setup, carefully balancing soft, flattering light on each subject while adding contrast and dimension to the background. This technique enhanced facial features and created a professional, polished look, while the contrast between the subject and the background added depth, allowing the portraits to stand out in an engaging, dynamic way.

Hover Effect Portraits

To add an interactive element for Sunco’s website, we created secondary versions of each headshot for a unique hover effect. These versions feature a low-opacity textured background behind each portrait, adding visual depth and aligning with the brand’s architectural feel. This additional styling provided a cohesive, branded touch that would further engage viewers on the Sunco website.

“Absolutely would recommend Absorb to others. The quality of services provided was amazing. In addition, the response times were better than expected in answering any questions or needing anything from them.”
